Our story

In August 2005, we visited a chorus at an orphanage called the Dorcas Children Home en Ganda, a poor area 12 km from Kampala.

In November of the same year, we brought all twenty-two of the children of the chorus to Spain to showcase their music and culture.  However, when we returned them to the orphanage, the owner of the orphanage kicked them out when he realized that the money they raised when travelling would be given only to the kids and not to the orphanage.  They were left on the street once again. We knew we couldn’t leave them that way – these kids had so much potential and so little opportunity to take advantage of it.

We decided to create a home not only for these kids and, but also for other talented children in Uganda so they could have all chance to prosper in their own country, and a chance to fulfil their dreams.

Our goal in creating this home was:

  • To give them an education specific to the ambitions and strengths of each child.
  • To teach them music and dance to help them both professionally and personally.
  • To help them to create their own futures by ensuring that when they left the home we had created they could support themselves in Uganda.
