Video Club

Mwanje Eddy was the oldest one at the orphanage and the first kid to leave the home. While at the orphanage, he completed his coursework in accounting and IT and got his drivers license. 

In 2007, we helped him start a video club with the goal of helping him to support himself outside the orphanage. The business consisted of renting movies and, as a complimentary service, renting sound equipment for weddings and other parties. We knew that in addition to applying what he had learned at school, it would be a fantastic opportunity to learn the responsibility and independence required to run a small business.
